This was inspired by some folk song lyrics about a fox hunt where the fox is the Devil. That's supposed to be the door to hell under that shrubbery, but I may do another drawing of this that's more dramatic.
I don't really know much about the song, I'm not sure if it's new or old, but I like it.

i love this! btw, what is the song?
ReplyDeleteAre you referring to "The Black Fox?" If so, it's actually fairly new (and pretty bangin'). It was originally a poem by Graham Pratt, from the 70s I think.
ReplyDeleteI really like this, I'd love to hear the song too
ReplyDeleteThis is the best version I could find on youtube, the one I have is a little less celtic-y :)

His original musical version is pretty fantastic and was reissued recently on the Early Birds disc he did with his wife.
His imagery is very strong on all of his tracks, even if they can have a bit too much of a renaissance vibe at times
I love this concept. I would love to buy one of your prints one of these days.
ReplyDeletei love this evil fox! theres an evil gleam in his eyes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the song link I enjoyed it, I can imagine your fox animated while I listen to it.
ReplyDeleteI will check out the Graham Pratt one too.
This is perfect beyond words!! I love the eerie glow of the door to hell (and that it's under a shrubbery!) :)
ReplyDeleteI love the shapes, colors, and composition of this one.
ReplyDeleteI will say I am one of the ones who has loved this song and that I feel you captured its feel quite well with this picture and I admire you for that and I would be willing to buy a print of this with the lyrics in the back ground or something
ReplyDeleteKeep writing keep drawing keep composing keep singing and keep living it up my friends
