A Few New Drawings

The wolf is for sale in the UK at Here Gallery, and the Lady & Bear are for sale here in Portland at Noun.

Thanks so much for your kind words and excitement about the Tin House covers! I feel bad that lately I've been an even worse commenter/comment responder than usual, but I want you to know I appreciate them so much!

This week is going to be very full. I've spent the last week recovering from a truly awful and very stubborn cold and I'm behind on everything!

In Print: Tin House Magazine

I couldn't be more thrilled to have a drawing of mine on the front, and back, covers of Tin House Magazine!
(also pictured: left over apple pie from Thanksgiving and persimmons, my new favorite winter fruit)
This year I'm soo thankful that great work keeps coming my way!

Wolf & Kid

Aesopica curated by Working Proof is opening this Friday at Rare Device in San Francisco!
From the show description:
Each artist in Aesopica chose a different fable to illustrate. Participating artists include Andrea D'Aquino, Samantha Hahn, Caitlin Keegan, Sol Linero, OSoo, Danna Ray, Amy Ruppel, Catherine Ryan, Lisa Solomon, Yasmine Surovec, Julianna Swaney, and Gretchen Wagoner.
Both original artwork and prints will be available, as well as a show catalog printed by Blurb. 15% of the gross proceeds from the show will be donated to the San Francisco chapter of 826 National, 826 Valencia. 826 National is a network of nine nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping students, ages 6-18, with expository and creative writing.

Rare Device is located at 1845 Market Street between Valencia and Guerrero Streets,
The opening reception is November 19 from 7-9pm
(That is my piece on the postcard)

I'm trying to decide right now if I am going to go to SF for the opening, I'd love to but it depends if I feel like being in a car for 10 hours to get there. Hm...

In Print:Oregon Home Magazine

This is an illustration I did for the local magazine Oregon Home. I don't get actual illustration jobs that often, and this one involved visiting their offices downtown and having meetings etc, it was all very fun. The article it accompanies is about having a well appointed guest room.

Tea Biscuit

A friend and I like to make regular excursions to various international markets in the area. Our most recent foray was to the Russian market where I got these wonderful cookies with strawberry plants on them

Little Winter Wind Down

This weekend being at Little Winter was so nice! It was lovely to meet with so many familier names face to face finally, & the show itself was gorgeous and so busy! Thank you thank you to everyone who came by my booth and said hello, and to Abby for asking me to be in the show, it was wonderful!

Little Winter was my last big thing this year, now I just have a few group shows, commissions, and holiday shop sales, all of which sounds relaxing after the past few months! I'm looking forward to having some real time on my hands to read, relax, think, and sketch. I get my best ideas when I'm doing nothing at all! I may be taking a short trip down to San Francisco for the opening of this show (you might remember the pumpkin house drawing), but we'll see!

(Many other people took much better photos of the show, so see some of them visit the Little Winter Flickr group)

Today feels just like this short piece by Yuriy Norshteyn.
